The construction of the television house in the center of Tallinn began in 1960, and the first broadcast was produced in the current television house in July 1965. Over the course of nearly 60 years, the television house has witnessed various eras. Alongside the development of television, both television technology and studios have made significant advancements. Today, in addition to Estonian Television (ETV), ETV2 and ETV+ programs also originate from these studios.
The television house is a blend of old and new, as despite modern capabilities, the building itself has aged, and the national broadcaster is taking steps toward establishing a new, contemporary television complex. As part of the Open House Tallinn event, the television house opens its doors to visitors, providing a glimpse into the spaces where shows are created, watched by thousands every day. The television house houses four different studios and a variety of workspaces, from dressing rooms to editing rooms, all integral to daily television production. The guided tour takes visitors through the long corridors and studios of the television house, allowing them to learn about its history and the unique aspects of television work.
