Toompea has been the center of various powers on the territory of Estonia for centuries. With several different buildings, the Toompea complex offers a glimpse into Estonian history from the Middle Ages to the Soviet era. Among the more recognizable parts are the preserved section of the medieval fortress and the Riigikogu (Parliament) building. After the Great Northern War, Toompea became the center of the Governorate of Estonia, and the eastern wing of the fortress was reconstructed into the Governorate Government building. This year, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of this building, known as Toompea Castle. As part of the celebration, we are organizing a comprehensive presentation of the history, stories, and parts of the building that are not typically shown during regular tours. The tours will include visits to the White Hall, several meeting rooms, and various floors (note: the Riigikogu building will not be visited during this tour!). At the end of the tour, interested participants can also ascend the Pikk Hermann Tower
